properties. The standard also presents the thicknesses
for industrial gasket sheets and the item code
designation to be used in procurement. The indicative pressure and temperature limits for the
use of gasket materials presented in this standard are
based on applications identified as suitable in practice,
but they do not cover all industrial applications.
Therefore, in order to achieve a safe connection, the
suitability of the selected gasket material for the
intended application should always be confirmed by the
supplier. The standard does not cover metal gaskets.
