The 6th edition of the handbook compiles the latest versions of all PSK pipe class standards. Part 1 of the handbook includes stainless steels, and part 2 covers non-alloyed and alloyed steels under the name carbon steels. The handbook contains pipe class standards for steel piping prepared by PSK Standardisointi. A pipe class refers to a selection of pipes and pipe fittings suitable for the same pipeline, where dimensions and materials are specified. The strength of all pipes and pipe fittings has been calculated in accordance with the pressure equipment directive. The manual provides comprehensive information on piping needed for pipeline design, manufacturing, installation, and procurement. It presents the identifiers of standardized pipe classes and the materials used in these pipe classes. The pipe classes have been prepared for the steel materials most commonly used in industrial pipelines. This handbook, together with PSK Handbook 8 "Pipe Support" and PSK Handbook 9 "Industrial Insulation" as well as other PSK standards dealing with pipelines, forms the foundation of piping design. All handbooks are bilingual (Finnish and English) and are intended for use in both domestic and export projects. The standards have been prepared by experts from the client, supplier, design, contracting, manufacturing, technical trade, and inspection sectors, representing the best practices currently available. Inspection bodies have provided statements on compliance with the pressure equipment directive. The handbook and separate editions of the standards are available from PSK Standardisointi.
