This standard presents common practices for the factory inspections. The purpose of this standard is to achieve a uniform approach to assess conformity of products.
This standard presents examples of various inspections and tests including review of related documents. The examples are not all-inclusive but are meant to give a general overview of common practices. They will vary, however, case by case depending on the characteristics, extent, and versatility of an item.
The terms related to this standard are defined in the standard PSK 9201.
The planning of factory inspections is presented in standard PSK 9203.
PSK 9204 presents the requirements for the qualification of an inspector.
This standard is not applicable in inspections regulated by authorities.
This standard is not applicable for installation, take-over, and guarantee inspections in site, which are covered in the standards PSK 2601, PSK 2910, PSK 2901, PSK 2902, PSK 2903, PSK 2904 and PSK 2905.
This standard is not applicable in expediting assignments, which sometimes are being conducted by persons performing factory inspections.
